Q: How do I change the information in my listing?
A: Log in and then click on "My account" located in the upper
left part of the page, just under "Welcome [alias]". This will
take you to your control panel, where you can click on the button labeled
"Edit Info/Preferences".
Q: I don't seem to get a lot of matches when I do a search.
How can I increase the number of matches?
A: The number of matches is dependent on the number of users whose information
matches the criteria you are searching on. You could try searching only
on home zipcode, instead of both home and work zipcodes. This approach
might require a bit more flexibility on your commute, but could be well
worth it. As more users become part of the system, your odds of finding
matches will improve. Tell your friends to register!
Q: What should I do with the "Additional Info"
field in my personal information?
A: As you might have noticed, zipcodes are a fairly imprecise means of
denoting location. In "Additional Info", you can be more specific,
such as: "Can meet at Albertsons parking lot and need ride to Intel
area." You can also use the field to specify things such as: "Need
ride Monday-Thursday; have to stay in town to party Friday." The
more information you give about your needs, the more likely someone will
be able to respond to them.
Q: How do I contact someone who looks like a match?
A: You can contact potential ride-mates by clicking on the "Contact"
button just below the user's information. This contact will reach them
through the email address they provided during signup, but you will not
be able to see the email address. When they get the email, they will not
see your email address, either. Instead, they will see your user alias
and a link by which they can respond to you anonymously. You can see a
complete record of your contacts with other users by logging in, clicking
on "My account", and then clicking on "Review Contacts". |
