Now that I've been carpooling for a couple of weeks, I don't remember why I was reluctant to do it. I love saving money and the wear and tear on my car.

Successful carpooling hinges on making the arrangement as convenient as possible. Having a common area where you can meet your carpool mates and leave your car can increase the convenience factor several-fold.

You may be able to convince the owner of a shopping center to set aside a portion of their parking lot for a specified period of time on weekdays by pointing out that carpoolers often stop on the way home to pick up groceries. If their car is waiting for them in a shopping center anchored by a grocery store, the chances are pretty good they'll pick up their groceries there.
